Majka Burhardt: Majka is an author, professional climber, and social entrepreneur and is the founder and director of both Legado and Additive Adventure. Majka has over 18-years of experience leading multi-stage international ventures focused on current issues of cultural and global significance spanning Africa, Europe, South and North America. As an organization, Additive Adventure’s mission is to go beyond exploration to build cultural and environmental connections that catalyze a larger conversation around personal and collective impact and achieve profound results. Majka is the author of Vertical Ethiopia and Coffee Story: Ethiopia, and executive producer of the film Waypoint Namibia. Her articles have been published throughout the world and her work has been featured The Economist, Outside Magazine, NPR, and many other media outlets. She is an American Mountain Guides Association Rock Guide and also former two-term member of the organizations’ board of directors. She is an ambassador/athlete top outdoor companies including Patagonia, Osprey Packs, Petzl, Scarpa, and Julbo.
