Securing land tenure is fundamental when it comes to land and natural resource management in Mozambique. The Legado: Namuli team participated in a 5-day training with collaborating organizations ORAM and Terra Firma to learn the fundamentals of innovative methodologies for land delimitation in the communities of Namuli.

Through the strengthening of Natural Resource Management Committees, delimitation of community boundaries, development of land use maps, and a legacy-based approach to environmental leadership, we can support improved management of natural resources and the shift to long-term solutions, as opposed to short-term economic gains. With the land rights of individuals and communities recognized and registered, we can continue to support the community as we work together towards mitigating the detrimental impacts of deforestation and uncontrolled fires.
