David Mũgĩ

Senior Impact Analyst

David Mũgĩ is a Kenyan youth champion and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning (MERL) professional. He was born and raised in the Great Rift Valley of rural Kenya, and has four years of experience conducting community-level research assessments with social and economic impact organizations working in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Mozambique, Cameroon, and Lesotho. David is driven by exploring the market imperfections that are endemic to development contexts, as well as the potential for governance interventions to make for ever-more efficient exchanges of products and ideas within these contexts. The object of his work is to expand the economic pie—for the greater good of all.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a secondary qualification in African Studies from Harvard University. His work experience in research spans the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Busara Center for Behavioral Economics, and Educate!. David is proficient in empirical quantitative and qualitative research techniques, and has managed cross-country teams and operations in the contexts of data collection, data analysis, insight generation, and results dissemination. Based in Kenya, he brings his wealth of knowledge in MERL to Legado, and is eager to help further the impact of the organization’s global programming.
