Liz Corbishley
Executive Vice President | Legado
Liz Corbishley joined Legado as Executive Vice President in October 2024. Her personal vision is that everyone, no matter their starting point in life, has the opportunities needed to fulfill their potential and understand their true worth. This has been the through-line of her 20-year career: from working with underprivileged young people in the UK, to youth empowerment in Tanzania, to poverty alleviation across Africa. As Legado’s first Executive Vice President, Liz oversees strategic growth, scale efforts, partnerships, program impact, and milestone goals.
Liz moved to East Africa for a year in 2011. Five jobs, one husband, two small children, and an MBA later, she is still there. Her specific expertise and passion is in helping impact-driven organizations scale through building strategy, cultivating partnerships, and growing stellar teams. In her former role as Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer at Village Enterprise, she led a 5x ‘Journey to Scale’ for a poverty alleviation non-profit. She holds an MBA in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Nottingham and a BA Hons in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick. So yes, she can write you a solid strategy, but don’t be surprised if the SWOT is in sonnet form.
Outside work, Liz prioritizes family, friends, and fitness (aka going to the gym to escape said family). She runs, paints when she can, and has been taught how to make a passable paper airplane by her five year old.
